Each year, the share of cobots in robot sales increases. Devices of this type have a solution that distinguishes them from classic industrial robots – torque transducers in the axes. With these sensors, it is possible to detect collisions and increase the safety of operators in the immediate vicinity of the cobot.<\/p>\n

Risk assessment and compliance evaluation process<\/h4>\n

Risk assessment carries critical value for the entire cobot implementation process. A holistic approach is needed when developing it and implementing its conclusions. It is necessary to take into account the impact of the entire system surrounding the robot – people, other production systems, technology, instrumentation. For this, knowledge of safety issues is required, included in such documents as ISO\/TS 15066, PN-EN ISO 12100, 2006\/42\/EC, PN-EN ISO 10218, among others.<\/p>\n

This is as extensive an issue as the extensive availability of robotic actuators on the market. In addition to typical characteristics such as strength, lifting capacity, speed of operation, how the product is affected, safety issues must be considered. For example, the use of a pneumatic gripper with high gripping force and jaw stroke may result in an unacceptable level of safety in the risk assessment.<\/p>\n
